Are you interested in a Thermal Imaging Survey?

Vale Villages in transition are looking into the possibility of carrying out Thermal Imaging Surveys of homes and community buildings during the winter of 2012/13.

To take thermal image, a camera is pointed at the side of a property  during the winter when heaters are on and there is a temperature difference between inside and outside the homes. The image helps  to assess the energy efficiency of buildings and where it would be useful to install draught proofing insulation etc. More information at www.ruralcc.org.uk/thermal-imaging

The idea will be to keep costs to a minimum so it might be free to individuals or at least very low cost depending on take up. Depending on interest it might be on a scattered opt-in basis by individual home owners or on a whole village basis.

 We’ll need:

  • volunteers to help organise the project, spread the word and to use the camera and interpret the images to the homeowners.
  • people who would like to have a Thermal Image Survey of their property and perhaps their neighbours’ too?

Please get in touch if you are interested or would like to know more.

Thanks.

New VVIT blog

Hello!

We’ve set up this new blog to keep you in touch with what’s happening with Vale Villages in Transition.

Our old website (www.valevillagesintransition.org.uk) is dormant, and we’re moving on from our page on the RCC website (http://www.ruralcc.org.uk/ccc-vale-villages-in-transition.html), due to the end of our free support from the Communities Cutting Carbon project.

Both pages have lots of interesting archive information about VVIT though, so do check them out!
